Name: Ryan Skoliro
Nickname/Alias: N/A;
Age: 27
Power: Energy Manipulation; Ryan taps into the energy of his own body and manipulates it into a physical form. Originally only able to shield himself with this energy, he progressed in his power to the point where he could manifest compressed orbs of this energy, and he could control these as he wished. During the events of the Genesis, he found when he concentrated, he could compact his energy enough to create a super-fine thread, which he could cut things with. After the events at Galilee, he practiced in secret, and eventually was strong enough to create a full fledged sword using energy. Also, he has found that while the energy he creates can easily burn through flesh, it does not harm him if he touches it. He has taken to coating his hand in energy and punching through walls when angry.
Power Class: Potential
Weakness: Ryan uses his own energy for his power, and if he expends too much energy, he WILL die. Also, energy is very chaotic, so if Ryan doesn't concentrate properly, he can lose control of the energy and it could easily destroy something.
Appearance: The past ten years have been hard on Ryan. He now is six foot tall, even. His hair has gotten slightly darker, so is now a brownish shade. He no longer spikes it, but still keeps it at a medium length. His eyes, which used to shift from blue to gray from time to time, now stay at a cool mix between the two. His eyes seem to shine when he truly concentrates when using his power. He has also grown a small beard since the Genesis. He is still somewhat thin, but not overly so. He likes to wear plain colored tees with long-sleeved over-shirts. Most of his jeans are slightly torn from years of wear.
Bio: Ryan's parents have always been distant to him. His father never cared about him, and never acknowledged Ryan. Ryan's mother was an alcoholic, and would often be found passed out on the floor. From his childhood, Ryan learned to fend for himself and to disregard his emotions. He tends to be very logical, but often misses details due to oversight. He found out about his powers during middle school, in a fight.
After his parents found out, they split up and disowned him completely. Ryan was forced to grow up early, and roamed around, living on the goodwill of strangers and the survival skills he had learned. Despite being on his own, Ryan still went to school and kept odd jobs, still functioning as a member of society.
He heard about Galilee, specifically the Quirinus Institute, and decided to check it out. Ryan was one of the few students who helped in the rescue efforts after a bomb blast rocked the First Bank of Galilee. Ryan was shocked by the violence and carnage, but realized his emotions were getting the best of him. Then, the officials turned. Apparently, the mayor and his family had been kidnapped and murdered, and the government suspected the Inhumans. Ryan narrowly escaped, mostly due to ingenuity and insane amounts of good luck.
Over the past ten years, Ryan has been hiding out, desperately evading government officials and listening for news of other Inhumans. The violence and callousness against Inhumans prompted Ryan to lose all respect for the government. He had never liked the idea of taking a life, but now he deemed that anyone working for the Government was scum, and deserved to be wiped from existence. He practiced in secret to hone his powers, nearly costing him his life in some cases.
Finally though, after years of training, Ryan is confident enough to take on the hunting parties searching for Inhumans. He has dedicated himself to taking down the hunting parties, by any means necessary. He also has a special hate for the 'Traitors,' the Inhumans that the Government use to plague the resistance.
RP Example: (I know it's supposed to be how you discovered your power, but I don't want to rewrite that. So I'm going to write about his training during the exile. Just want to be different. =P)
"Come on! Work!"
Ryan fumed. He was sitting on the ground in the middle of a farm, in the middle of nowhere. He figured it would be the safest place to try out some new techniques with his power. After all, who would be around in the middle of the night?
He tried it again. First, he tapped into his energy, forming a tight ball of it in his outstretched hand. Then, he concentrated on the ball of energy coalesced in his hand, trying to shape and mold it to his desire. It lengthened, extending roughly two and a half feet from his hand. He willed it to compact, to thin out and sharpen. The process to a good while, and left Ryan exhausted. But in the end, he would not be denied. There in his hand sat a fiery sword, blazing with energy and light.
"Nice..."
The word slipped out of his mouth, taking with it most of his energy. He fell back, struggling to breath and keep control of the sword in his hand.
"Crap!" he thought to himself, panting wildly. "It's fine once I get it stable, but right after I form it, that's when the fatigue hits."
Once he subdued his labored breathing and had recovered a little, Ryan decided it was time to try out his skills as a swordsman.
Ryan stood and faced one of the stables in the farm. He began swinging the sword in a series of arcs, to test how it felt. Somehow, even if it was made of energy alone, the sword felt as if it was weighted, he could feel its mass cut through the air. Slicing at a post, Ryan cleanly bisected it.
He was surprised when he felt the loss of energy. Puzzled, he swiped at another post. Again he felt a slight dip in his reserve.
"So whenever it comes in contact with something, it takes energy to cut through it... Great, another thing to worry about..." Ryan grumbled. "Looks like I'll just have to be careful..."
He severed the connection to his energy reserve and the sword disappeared. The only thing on his mind now was to get some sleep.
(I was bored, and since nothing else is happening, I added more. woo...)
